Fast, tasty, cheap - my three favorite words involving food. This New York style Chinese place isn't easy on the eyes, but I either pick up or get it delivered so who cares, right? My favorite part about this place is how willing they are to substitute things for me - since I don't eat most meat I can order bourbon tofu, or General Tso tofu, or sesame tofu, or... you get the picture. Even though there is a bit of a language barrier they always get it right and always sub those things for me! If you're a vegetarian, don't hesitate to ask, they will work with you. They have great lunch specials, check them out!

Horrible phone services, the girl who answers the phones are so incredibly rude!! If you cannot answer the phone with proper business manners than don't offer it!! If the food wasn't good than you would have just lost a client who has been ordering for the last 8 years. You should never answer a phone with a What do you want, yeah that was more than rude and yell at your client the whole time. Rude rude rude!!!

Don't put a sign NY style Chinese food on your door unless it is NY style. Yellow fried rice doesn't exist in NY and any Chinese Chef within 1,000 miles of NY would be embarrassed to serve it. Shame, shame, shame. How much cheaper is the yellow rice 3 cents a pound? I will return when hell freezes over. No Chow Fun either, i.e., not NY.

Yes, they DO deliver! A native New Yorker, I'm very critical of Chinese food. I was SO craving pork fried rice - GOOD pork fried rice. I opened yelp in hopes of finding something at least decedent in my area. I found China Star, read these reviews and ordered immediately. I was NOT disappointed! Best pork fried rice in the area. Very tasty!

This family run restaurant is cheap, fast, and tasty. I love the sesame chicken, and the husband speaks highly of the sweet and sour chicken and general tsaos. Definitely order yourself some China Star to go tonight.

I don't like Chinese food. Let's just get that out there. I don't like to order mystery meat thrown into small cardboard boxes from a scowling lady that barks at me in one syllable words. And that... is usually how the Chinese food experience goes for me. But my boyfriend likes it, and I like my boyfriend, so you know where I'm going to end up eating sometimes. Well good news! This place could change my opinion of Chinese food. The food is hot, has flavor, doesn't look like it hit the plate at speed, and is good quality. Really!! Atmosphere is still meh, but I won't be dreading coming back. Double thumbs up.

Good Chinese food, large portions, and reasonably priced. Unless you are willing to drive across I-4 to China Fun, this is the best you will find in Orange City / DeBary. Extra large portions and reasonably priced.

I make it a point to stop here when in town, and I have not ever been disappointed. In fact, I did not EVEN let a woman going off in this place stop me from ordering lunch. . .between the loudness, rude comments and exaggerated head rolls, I simply interrupted. . . "Umm, all that's nice, but I really need to order some lunch. . ." Yes--the food is THAT good, that when someone decides to show their ass (so much so that another patron was calling the cops), you stay and order lunch. The vegetables are crisp and vibrant, everything is seasoned well, and the price is unbeatable. Now, you will need to ask for napkins and bring your own sunshine with you, but that's a super small price to pay for the excellent food served at this place.

I have been eating here for about three years. The service is good but the food is great. The taste is great and I have tried several dishes. I eat here at least once a week my usual Shrimp Mefung and it is always right on point. I live in Deltona and I drive here or wait til I have to go to Orange City to get my order after bad experiences with Chinese restaurants in Deltona. You can't go wrong with the food here.

Horrible!!!! Do not go here absolutely worst customer service I have ever experienced!!!!! Food is soggy and disgusting. The people who run it are extremely rude and I would never recommend this place to anyone

I love Chinese food. I would eat it every day if it were healthier and I could cook it at home (sorry, economy). My ex-home, Seattle, was full of Teriyaki places and sit-down establishments in the International District, blah blah blah, and I often found myself simply wanting a place where I could get my fix for cheap and get the f out of there. So, I was happy to re-discover China Star as I was leaving my local Florida Goodwill. There is something oh-so wonderful about getting a bad-ass dress for $3 and walking next door and getting a big lunch/leftover dinner for... wait for it... wait for it... $4.83!!!! FOUR MOTHER F-IN EIGHTY THREE!!!! A MOUND OF YUMMY GENERAL TSAO'S, WHITE RICE, AND A BIG EGGROLL FOR LESS THAN FIVE DOLLARS. I feel like this is some cruel dream I'm going to wake up from. China Star, can I be your spokeswoman?

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
